Our catering team at the GLA was recognised in this year’s PFM Awards in the Partners in Public Access Facilities category. Our client, the Greater London Authority Facilities and Squares Management Team, entered the 2010 awards with their service partners - including OCS - and beat off stiff competition to win the category.
Winners of the PFM Awards 2010 were announced in November at a recent presentation dinner at The Brewery in central London. The awards, organised by PFM magazine, are now in their 17th year and are amongst the most sought after prizes in the FM sector. They recognise best practice in FM partnering and support services between service suppliers and their clients, as well as the skills and enterprise of people engaged in this sector.
Our team at the GLA provides catering through Eligo to the Café on Trafalgar Square, offering an all-day menu as well as hot and cold beverages and a fully licensed bar.
The GLA’s Facilities and Squares Management Team manages Trafalgar Square which is visited by thousands of people for events, rallies, demonstrations, art events, filming and national celebrations. In the last two years they have engaged with their contractors to change from a reactive and ad hoc approach to maintenance to one of partnership. They aim, on a day to day basis, for mutual support and recognition of the contribution made by everyone working on the Square. They have developed shared objectives and a 10 year plan to achieve high standards with their service partners on the Square. This has transformed the standards of care for this famous London landmark.
The PFM Awards Partners in Public Access category recognises partnerships between public and private sector organisations and facilities management suppliers in a wide variety of facilities that are open to the public in whole or in part, including museums, art galleries, libraries, sports stadia, theatres, events and shopping centres.
