Fifteen OCS security employees have been presented with Outstanding Achievement awards at the Metropolitan Police CCTV Awards. The annual awards, which celebrate the fantastic work done by London borough CCTV control rooms to protect the public and prevent crime, were held at New Scotland Yard. As well as receiving multiple awards for individual staff members, the OCS security team for the London Borough of Lambeth received the prestigious Team of the Year award.

The Outstanding Achievement awards were presented to OCS staff working across the London boroughs of Enfield, Lambeth and Lewisham, in recognition of their efforts to prevent a wide range of crimes including violent crime, vehicle theft, cashpoint fraud, money laundering, and drink-driving, as well as helping to keep the community safe through assistance with counter terrorism, missing persons and firearms finds.

“We are very proud of the OCS security team,” commented Bob Taylor, OCS UK CEO. “ To have so many individual winners and to win the Team of the Year award is a credit to the professionalism of our people, coupled with the bespoke complementary systems and security solutions we provide.”

The ceremony, now in its second year, was compèred by Met Detective Chief Inspector Mick Neville, head of the central forensic image team, and speakers included UK surveillance camera commissioner Tony Porter and Commander Julian Bennett, area commander for south London.
