The OCS Security team at the Chesterfield Royal Hospital was recently nominated for and won a Staff Recognition Award for being the best Supportive Organisation to the hospital.
The awards are held annually to praise individuals and teams working within the hospital that have gone that extra mile and above and beyond their call of duty.
Altogether there were 10 award categories and 41 finalists - chosen from more than 300 nominations made by patients, relatives and staff. OCS faced tough competition from RB Allfree Construction and Ambuline, but the team were victorious and won the Supporting Organisation Award.
All walks of hospital life are nominated for the awards from entire wards and teams to domestics and ambulance crews, cleaners, caterers, doctors and nurses, construction crews and therapists.
Chairman of the hospital Richard Gregory commented, “With more than 70 CCTV cameras and a huge site to cover, the security team has an incredibly difficult job keeping the Trust protected and ensuring the safety of staff, visitors and patients. Always quick to answer emergency calls, resolve disputes and ensuring the car parks are run efficiently, the Trust would be a very different place without their input.
