NHS Redcar and Cleveland is responsible for the provision of primary and community health services to the 140,000 people living within the Redcar and Cleveland area in the North East of England.
OCS holds a contract for cleaning and catering services at the new £37m hospital and at a recent inspection from the Patient Environment Action Team (PEAT), received an excellent score across the board for patient experience.
The PEAT team reviews the cleanliness and condition of hospital buildings and assesses food being served, as well as monitoring patient privacy and dignity including sleeping areas and access to the bathrooms.
The hospital is one of 40 trusts out of the 1,242 that were assessed that received an excellent rating. Bill Gamble, chairman of NHS Redcar and Cleveland, said of the review. "These are very encouraging results. They are a credit to the skilled and dedicated staff at the newly built hospital. We know it is so important for patients to feel comfortable and confident in the care they receive."
Anne Moore, a director for NHS Tees, added, "The excellent quality of care being delivered to the patients in the hospital is now proved to be among the best in the country."
