BITC Volunteer Awards honour for OCS security supervisor

11th Jul 2014

Security Controlroom Coordinator Jonathan Miles, who works for international total facilities management provider OCS, has been named South West Impact winner in the Business in the Community (BITC) 2014 volunteer awards.

Jonathan, who is employed at Land Securities' Cabot Circus shopping centre in Bristol, was honoured for his work helping unemployed people back into work through a combination of events and buddying support.

He has hosted six events for BITC, where 40 people received information on job opportunities at Cabot Circus, and provided buddying support for 15 people on work placements, five of whom were offered employment. Jonathan also engaged other businesses in BITC programmes by speaking at a Bristol City Council event.

Jane Sheard, UK Managing Director of Facilities Services at OCS, commented: ‘We congratulate Jonathan on his achievement. His hard work and dedication have reaped rewards in the local community and he is an asset to our business. I am very proud of the hard work and high standards that he and all our security teams achieve.’
