OCS 'Best Manager' Receives Award
At the 2nd Team Clean Challenge Awards Ceremony in London’s Westminster, Eddie Green of OCS was named Best Overall Manager. In this year’s Team Clean Challenge organised by Asset Skills, 22 teams from private and public sector took part with specialisms ranging from office cleaning to healthcare, industrial and school cleaning. Eddie was praised by the competition judges for his `outstanding performance’, exceptional leadership, organisational skills, and decisive action, as well as his awareness of Health and Safety and effective use of PPE.
Eddie, the Group’s Operations Manager for window and specialist cleaning in the South Thames area, was delighted to receive the award. “Taking part in the Team Clean Challenge really put to the test all I have learnt over the last 10 years with OCS,” said Eddie. “I started with the company as a mobile cleaning operative and the training, the experience and the knowledge I’ve gained during my career progression was invaluable in helping me.” Eddie also recognised the contribution of his team members to his award saying, “They gave a great performance in the competition and had a very positive and pro-active involvement.”
Commenting on the Awards, Chris James, Director of Research and Development for Asset Skills, said, “When we took on organising the UK's first ever cleaning skills competition we knew it was a tough challenge. But it was our intention from the outset, not just to be another contest, but to be an exemplar contest. The competition has gone from strength to strength and is set to get bigger and better.”
