OCS Keeps Shoppers Safe In Scotland

7th Oct 2010

The strong partnership between OCS and Land Securities has resulted in a National Safer Shopper Award for the Bon Accord and St Nicholas shopping centres in Aberdeen. The centres are the first in the region to receive the accolade; an award sponsored by the British Retail Consortium and endorsed by the Home Office and Association of Chief Police Officers.

The award recognises towns, cities and shopping centres that demonstrate a strong practical commitment to reducing crimes such as shoplifting, theft and robbery. OCS has held the contract with Land Securities for 8 years and supports the centres with both manned guarding and CCTV.

Alison Light, Operations Manager of the centres said, “Receiving a nationally recognised accolade reflects the hard work and strong measures we have put in place to ensure our continued high standards are met. This prestigious award is well deserved.”

OCS currently holds the acclaimed status of National Security Inspectorate (NSI) Gold and is a member of the National Security Inspectorate, the British Security Industry Association and Skills for Security. Having just recently acquired the business and assets of Legion Group Plc, OCS remains a strong player in the security market.
