Fire warning and detection systems
OCS’s Fire Service and Maintenance Contract is a cost effective way of managing your maintenance. Our certificated alarm engineers are qualified to carry out the routine maintenance and servicing of a wide range of systems regardless of the manufacturer or original installer, so even if you have a mixed environment of fire alarms across your property estate, you only need one maintenance company.
An electrical fire warning/automatic fire detection system installed in any commercial building must be serviced, inspected and tested in accordance with BS 5839-1:2013, the Fire detection and fire alarm systems for buildings – Part 1: Code of practice for design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of systems in non-domestic premises.
Certain checks can be carried out by a responsible person nominated by the clients themselves, for example daily checks to ensure the indicator panel is in normal operation and that any fault warnings on the panel have been rectified. Weekly checks will ensure that the system is capable of operating under normal alarm conditions by testing a detector or a call point in different zones, with any defects found being recorded in a system log book and called through to the maintenance team for immediate rectification.
OCS operates a nationwide service, with engineers providing maintenance and emergency repairs 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
