The Family and Core Values
A family business and our core values
We started as a family business in 1900 and the family ethos and values are very much at the heart of, and permeate throughout, our business. This is embodied in our core values which translate into the ethical, sustainable and innovative ways in which we do business.
As a team, we are committed to ensuring that the work we do and the decisions we make are underpinned by these values and we understand that it is our behaviours that best define this commitment.
Some examples of the ways in which we live and work by those values include celebrating being honest, polite, respectful and reliable. We embrace new ideas and change to improve contract value and service, we care about the environment and make the best use of all our resources. We make our staff feel a valued part of the team by ensuring safety and celebrating individuals who take responsibility for their own health and well-being.
We’re not afraid to challenge behaviours that go against our values, such as lateness or not caring about personal appearance. We challenge saving time by cutting corners, covering up things that should be reported or passing the buck and not getting involved. As a family business we will challenge discrimination, intimidation, non-communication or not being willing to help others.
We recognise our wider responsibilities. We contribute to an ethical supply chain by reducing the environmental impact
of our solutions and support the communities
in which we work.
Our business wouldn’t be the success it is today without the ‘can do’ attitude of all colleagues past and present. We nurture talent, encourage teamwork and collaborative working to build strong relationships that deliver to customer objectives.
