North West & National Winner - Scott Cardle - Boxing

Three times winner of the ABAE National Junior Title, the young boxer captained the England Cadet team in the World Championships and is a member of the Team GB Olympic development squad.

Regional Winners 

Northern Ireland - Sean downey - Cycling

Junior Irish Cyclo Cross Champion, Sean picked up a string of under-16 awards including Irish Trial Champion, Irish Mountain Biking Champion and Ulster Road Race Champion. Sean has achieved Top Junior in the Tour of the North and won the Armagh to Downpatrick race for senior riders.

Scotland - Eilidh Mcleod - Alpine Skiing

Eilidth started competing aged seven, and has been a member of British teams since the age of twelve. In 2006 she was the Scottish Ladies Slalom Champion.

North East - Alex Kirk - Netball

Alex has toured southern Africa with the England under-21 netball team, and been selected for the England ‘A’ open age squad.

Midlands - Nathan Woodward - Athletics 

In 2007 Nathan was the Inter-county Schools under-17 400 metre hurdles champion. At the World Schools under-18 championships in Greece he took a bronze medal in the 400 metre hurdles, achieving a second place on the all-time outdoor British rankings. Nathan went on to set a new Amateur Athletic Association of England under-17 400 metre hurdles record at Birmingham in 2007.

Wales - Imran Hassan - Cricket

Imran was the youngest member of both Glamorgan CCC's Cricket Academy and Newport Cricket Club's 1st XI. In 2007 Imran was awarded the Sir Jack Hobbs Memorial Award for the Most Outstanding U16 Cricketer.

South West - Corinna Lawrence - Fencing

Corinna has just returned from Malaysia from the U20 Commonwealth Fencing Championships winning gold in the individual and the team event. Double U20 Commonwealth Champion gold and silver medalist at the Australian Youth Olympic Festival, bronze medalist at the U20 European Championships, silver medalist at the U20 Portugal World Cup A-grade and Qualified for my 6th World Championships - in April

London - Tom Hide - Flat Water Sprint Kayak

Tom continues his fine form by dominating the Junior Mens K1 racing winning both the 500m and 1000m distances. In 500m he delivered at time of 1m 45s and in the 1000m he posted 3m 49s.

South East - James Steadman - Karate 

James won all the major cadet competitions in the UK in 2007 and is a member of the England team.

Disabled - Philip Cochrane - Wheelchair Tennis

Philip has an improved ranking from 297 to 135. His expectations for 2009 is to consolidate and immprove his ranking to get in the top 100. In addition to wheelchair tennis Philip is the youngest ever player to play a British Sledge Ice Hockey match when aged just 9.

Young star - Laura Halford - Rhythmic Gymnastics
Laura was the 2006 British under-10 rhythmic champion winning the overall title and both individual apparatus titles.
